I think they&#039;re a good tool to give an account of a settled chain of reasoning, but when the argument is still in the hot plasma stage, I think you&#039;ll end up doing a lot of refactoring (i.e., people will disagree with framing at the top-level, etc.)&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;But ... if big chunks of the map survive those disagreements, that&#039;s a good sign. And if they can slowly accrete consensus ... hmmm ...&lt;/p&gt;
