Outlaw Regimes
Gunslingin’ Dubya Bush reformed one of his previous rhetorical terms “axes of evil” today. His new colloquialism harkens back to the days of the Wild West. The new term “outlaw regimes,” used to single out and condemn Syria and Iran, conjures the image of Bush as a Wild West sheriff of world peace. It also frames Syria and Iran as the “bad guy” that Americans can easily understand.
